How to arrange a meeting in Google Meet? Check it here...




      Google Meet is the video conferencing platform from Google. Google meet became very popular in this pandemic situation. Due to Corona Virus outbreak, almost every academic institutions are closed in India and the neighbouring countries also. In the Corporate sector as well as educational sector also using this platform to arrange video conferencing on various aspects like meetings, online class of different subjects, webinars etc. This article describes the process of arranging a meeting using Google Meet platform.


Step - 1 : Launch Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox / Microsoft Edge

Launch a web browser to arrange a meeting via Google Meet. It can be done without installing any application. Only a web browser is needed. Google meet supports Google Chrome, Mozila Firefox and Microsoft Edge as of now.

Step - 2 : Login with Gmail Account

Login with your Gmail account and open gmail.




Step - 3 : Arrange Meeting

In the left panel of Gmail interface, there is an option for Meet. Under Meet, there is an option to Start a meeting. Click on it.





Step - 4 : Join Meeting

It will pop a window and may ask about using your system webcam usage permission. Allow all the permissions. Next, there is an option called Join, Click on it.




Step - 5 : Copy Meeting links for other participants.

After clicking on Join, it will bring the meeting link. You can copy the link and share it to your participants.



Step - 6 : Present your Screen

Now, close the meeting link window and click on Present Now button, if you want to present your content among the participants.




It will bring three options -

1. Your entire screen - It will present your desktop screen
2. A window - It will present a specific Window
3. A chrome Tab - It will present a Chrome tab

Choose according to your criteria.




Next, it will pop up a window of your presentable screen. Click on the box to choose it.




Now, Click on Share button to share your screen and the contents.




All done! Now, minimize all the window and open your presentation and present among the students.

Tips :

Google Meet also available in android smartphones. There is a dedicated application available in play store to download. Anyone can join through a smartphone and also can present their content. But in low end smartphone they may get lagging issue or performance issue while presenting their content. To get rid of this problem presenter is recommended to use laptops to present their content.

If someone doesn't has a webcam or facing issues with integrated webcam and also any kind of audio issues, they may follow below trick -

At first join the meeting from smartphone and then turn your computer on. Next, launch above mentioned web browser and login gmail with the same account. Next, join again through the computer and turn off your microphone and video from the computer. Start presenting from your  computer. Thus, everybody will be able to see you and your content clearly and also able to hear you clearly. At the same time, presenter will also able to present the content easily. This way anyone can get rid from audio and video issues if faced, while using a desktop or laptop.

NOTE : Don't forget to mute both the audio and video option from your computer as it will make echo problem if turned on.
