    WPS office was developed by Zhuhai based Chinese software developer Kingsoft in 1988. It is a office suite for Microsoft Windows, Linux based operating systems, Mac and android operating system. Personal basic version of WPS office is free to use.

This article shows about the installation process of WPS office on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa). There is an office suite available in Ubuntu operating system called Libre Office. However, if anyone willing to use another office suite containing the features like word, spreadsheet, presentation etc. this article will be helpful to them.

Installation Process - 

Step - 1 : Download WPS office for Linux from here

 

Select debian package and download.

Step - 2: Open Terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T)

Step - 3 : Log in as a Super user

sudo su

Enter password

Step - 3 : Head to the Downloads folder 

cd Downloads

Step - 4 : List all the files to see the downloaded file name for WPS office

ls

Step - 5 : Install the file from downloads.

sudo dpkg -i wps-office_11.1.0.9505.XA_amd64.deb

 Where, wps-office_11.1.0.9505.XA_amd64.deb is the file name, choose this name which one show in terminal after applying the ls command. file name may differ according to WPS office version. So, enter appropriate file name according to version name after sudo dpkg -i 

And It will install WPS office in your system on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa).
