How to install Ubuntu 19.10 (Eoan Ermine) alongside Windows 10/8/7!!
Generally most of the users uses Windows as an operating system in PCs as it is very user friendly and popular. But when we want to use another OS then either we remove the Windows and install other one or we can install the other operating system alongside Windows. Here in this article, we are going to learn how to install Ubuntu 19.10.
Minimum Configuration of Installation :
Recommended system requirement :-
- 2 GHz dual core processor or better
- 2 GB system memory
- 25 GB of free hard drive space
- Either a DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media
- Internet access is helpful
Install Ubuntu Alongside Windows :
1. Download the Ubuntu opearting system from here and burn the ISO file into a DVD or create a bootable pendrive.
2. Insert the DVD or pendrive to the computer and start the computer while booting (while the manufacturer brand logo showing) press the function key, normally F10 or F12, (it may defers from computer to computer) to enter boot menu. Then select the booting method USB or CD/DVD.
3. After loading the OS it shows "Try Ubuntu" and "Install Ubuntu". Click on "Install Ubuntu" option.
4. It will ask for choosing keyboard. select keyboard and press continue.
5. Next it will ask to connect with network if the LAN is not connected. Choose whether you want to connect or not. (It can be connect later).
6. Next it will ask for how to start the installation. Click on Normal Installation and then click on Continue.
7. Next it will ask about "Installation Type" where we have to select "Something else" and then "Continue".

9. Now here in this drive we have to create some space called ROOT, SWAP AREA and HOME to successfully install the Ubuntu.
10. Configure Root - Click on the "+" icon after selecting the free space drive then a window will be open. There in the ''size'' option put a number greater than 5.3 GB. Then check on ''Logical'' option and check on ''Begining of this space''. Select the mount point ''/'' from the dropdown menu and click ''ok''.
11. Configure Swap area - Click on the "+" icon after selecting the free space drive then a window will be open. There in the ''size'' option put a number which will be twice of system RAM size (if system RAM is 4GB the the Size will be 8000). Then check on 'Logical' option and check on 'Begining of this space'. Select the ''swap area'' for ''Use as'' option from the dropdown menu and click ''ok''.
12. Configure Home - Click on the "+" icon after selecting the free space drive then a window will be open. There in the size option a number will showing automatically. Then check on 'Logical' option and check on 'Begining of this space'. Select the mount point '/home' from the dropdown menu and click 'ok'.
13. Next click on the "Install now" button.

Then check on 'Logical' option and check on 'Begining of this space'. Select the mount point '/home' from the dropdown menu and click 'ok'.
13. Next click on the "Install now" button.
14. Now it will ask to set the Region and Language. Select and click on "continue" one by one.
15. Next it will ask for "Computer name", "User name" and "Password". Fill those information and Click on Continue. (This password will be required every time when you login to your computer only if you Select "Require my password to login")
