How to Create Bootable USB Stick on Windows!








     Booting through CD/DVD is a normal and easy process and used by most of the common people. But when we want to experiment various operating systems such as different versions of Windows, Ubuntu, Fedora and also other Android x86 architecture based operating systems, then we all want that a bootable pen drive which can be used every time. To do so, we have to know about the process of converting a normal USB stick to a bootable one. Previously the process of creating bootable pen-drive on Windows was discussed in this blog using the Power ISO application. This article describes about creating bootable USB Drive on Windows using an application called balenaEtcher. Detailed process can be found below - 


About balenaEtcher - 


 BalenaEtcher is a free and open source utility software, used to create bootable USB drive and also to create live SD Drive and USB drive. It is a cross platform application software available for Windows, Mac OS and Linux, licensed under Apache 2.0. It is developed by balena. It is very easy to use tool for creating bootable USB stick for flashing operating systems in Ubuntu and Windows.


Step - 1 : Download balenaEtcher

balenaEtcher can be downloaded from the official website or click here

When downloaded, head to the download folder and run the set up file. Follow the in app instructions and install it.

When balenaEtcher installed on Windows then launch it to create bootable USB stick.






Step - 2 :  Connect USB Stick to the PC.






Step - 3 : Select .ISO file

To Select previously stored .iso file, Click on Flash from file option and head to the file location and select.






Step - 4 : Click on Flash to convert.

It will start flashing the iso and after flashing it will start validating and comes with successful message.
