How to Create a Library in Koha Integrated Library System!
Koha is an Integrated Library System. It is a free and open source library software, developed by Katipo Communications. This is a basic tutorial article which describes steps about adding a library in Koha.
Step - 1 : Open Koha
Launch a web browser and enter the address for koha i.e localhost:8001, where 8001 is a port number change according to your port number given during installation.
Step - 2 : Log in to Koha
Next Log in to the Koha for default library credentials which given during web installation.
Step - 3 : Click on Koha Administration
Step - 4 : Under Basic Parameters, click on Libraries
Step - 5 : Click on + New Library to create library
Step - 6 : Fill Details
In the Library Code section, fill the short name as library code i.e if the library name is Town Library then the code may be TL.
Next, in the Name section, fill the complete library name i.e. Town Library.
Now, fill other areas according to your interest. These two section is mandatory, others are optional.
Step - 7 : Scroll down and click on the Submit Button.
Now, A library is successfully added to koha!
