How to Stop Automatic Updates in Windows 10 PC!


          Windows 10 PC is the ultimate PC experience! It is very popular all over the world. It receives new features via updates. An updated PC is a happy PC. An Updated PC can give you enhanced PC experience. But sometimes it can gather bad experiences. While updating it may slow down and faster working experience may hamper. Then we need to stop the automatic update feature. In Windows 10 there are no options available directly to stop getting automatic updates in the settings menu. But there are several methods exists which can be helpful to stop getting automatic updates. These methods are listed below ...


Method - #1 : Update Service

1. Open the "Run" window by pressing "Windows Key + R". and type "services.msc" and press "Enter".




2. Head to "Windows Update" and open it.





3. In the "Startup", select "Disable" from the drop down menu and click on "Apply" and then "Ok".






Method - #2 : Group Policy Editor

1. Open the "Run" window by pressing "Windows Key + R". and type "gpedit.msc" and press "Enter".





 2. Head to "Computer Configuaration" and click on it.





 3. Head to "Administrative Templates" and click on it.




 4. Head to "Windows Components" and click on it.





 5. Head to "Windows Update" and click on it.





 6. Click on "Configure Automatic Updates"




7. Select Disable and click on Apply and then OK.






Method - #3 : Set the connection as Metered

Windows operating system does not gets updated through a metered network connection. It means it will not download the update if anyone set network connection as metered connection. It can also work as a trick to stop getting system updates in Windows 10. Scroll below to know about how to set a network as metered connection.


Step - 1 : Open Settings and Click on Network & Internet




Step - 2 : Click on Wi-Fi on the Left Panel





Step - 3 : Click on Connected Wi-Fi name




Step - 4 : Set the Connection as Metered





All done! Close all the window.
